RV fire closes multiple lanes on I-75 in Hillsborough County

A vehicle fire in Hillsborough County blocked multiple lanes on I-75 South Tuesday.

An RV that was towing an SUV experienced a mechanical failure that started a fire near mile marker 272, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

FHP said the driver came to a stop along the shoulder and escaped the vehicle unharmed.

Fire crews were still working to clear the road Tuesday evening.
