Sanford man, 34, struck, killed after walking into path of car following minor crash

 A 34-year-old Sanford man was fatally struck Wednesday night in Pasco County when he walked into the path of a car after he had been involved in a minor wreck, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The deadly crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on State Road 56 near Shops Lane.

The FHP said a Honda Civic, driven by a 40-year-old Sanford man, was westbound on S.R. 56 and struck the other Sanford man.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and later died, troopers said.

The driver was not injured.

No other details have been released.
