Sarasota homeowner attacked by solar salesman previously involved in shooting incident

A solar panel salesman is accused of attacking a homeowner in Sarasota County.

RS III, who was previously interviewed by Gulf Coast News in May after being shot at while selling solar panels, was arrested this week and charged with battery after a violent incident in the Colonial Oaks neighborhood.

K K, the homeowner, says Strada approached her at her doorstep offering to sell solar panels on behalf of the company Freedom Forever. When she declined, K said S refused to leave, repeatedly knocked on her door, and eventually became aggressive.

“I got thrown to the ground and my head knocked down onto the pavement by a grown man,” K said.

She claims the encounter quickly escalated — from verbal harassment, including homophobic slurs, to a physical altercation.

“He turned around and he grabbed me up as physically as he could and slammed me to the ground. My head hit down on the curb. It was insanity. I was seeing stars,” K said.

K said S even tried to take her walking stick before slamming her to the ground.

She called 911 and managed to record a video of S fleeing the scene. Witnesses said he tried to hide behind nearby homes before deputies and a helicopter team located and arrested him.

K went to a local hospital, where she underwent a CT scan.

“I have a huge egg on my head. My neck and shoulder hurt,” she said.

Later that evening, K searched S’s name online only to find a familiar face. It was the same man featured in a May news report, claiming he had been shot at while soliciting solar sales in Charlotte County. In that case, S said he was the victim after a homeowner opened fire on him and his colleague.

Now, K says that story deserves a second look.

“Look at what happened before he got chased away and was shot at, 25 feet from those people’s house,” she said. “My message to the community is, if you’re a woman home alone, don’t answer the door to these people that you don’t know. Talk to them through the Ring camera. Have your ring subscription pay for it, or the footage won’t save.”
