A Sarasota man was killed in a one-car crash on U.S. 41 near SeaPort Manatee Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol is reporting.
Troopers say a Nissan Versa was traveling north in the outside lane of U.S. 41 south of Scale Avenue at about 8:25 p.m.
The car, driven by a 57-year-old Sarasota man, left the roadway onto the northbound shoulder and hit a stop sign.
The car continued north until it hit a concrete retaining wall and overturned, investigators said.
The driver died at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
