A Palm Beach County School bus carrying 22 middle school students was involved in a traffic collision on Thursday.
According to the School District of Palm Beach County, a bus carrying students from Palm Springs Middle School was returning from a field trip when it was involved in a crash on northbound I-95. The district said the bus driver was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be released soon.
None of the students were injured as a result of the crash. The district says there were also three chaperones on board who were not injured either.
The district said all students were transported back to Palm Springs Middle School by a School District transportation supervisor and were later picked up by their families.
“The safety of our students is the highest priority for the District, and we appreciate the quick response of local law enforcement and emergency medical personnel to the scene. Families of the students involved have been notified,” the school district said in its statement.
