Security guard seriously hurt after train strike in West Palm Beach

The West Palm Beach police are investigating a collision between a train and a pedestrian.

Police said officers responded around 6 p.m. Tuesday to a “train and pedestrian” incident near 203 S. Tamarind Ave. The train was operated by Tri-Rail.

Officers found a person on the tracks who had sustained serious injuries, police said.

West Palm Beach Fire said crews transported a male security guard to St. Mary’s Hospital as a trauma alert.

Tri-Rail confirmed the person was a security guard and said his injuries were serious but not fatal. The agency said trains were slightly delayed, though the tracks were not fully closed.
