Semi hits fire truck responding to ambulance crash on Metro Pkwy in south Fort Myers

Crews are responding to two crashes that happened at Metro Parkway and Crystal Drive in south Fort Myers.

According to the South Trail Fire Protection & Rescue District, one crash was between an Ambitrans ambulance and a Tesla. Fire officials said a semitrailer then hit a South Trail Fire rescue vehicle that was parked at the scene.

South Trail Fire said no firefighters were injured; however, there were injuries in the first crash.

A traffic signal box was damaged, and southbound Metro Pkwy is closed from the intersection with Crystal Dr, according to South Trail Fire.
