Semi-truck catches on fire after wreck on I-75 in Columbia County

LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) – Traffic is moving again in Columbia County after two semi-trucks collided on Interstate 75 causing one to burst into flames.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say around 3 a.m., a truck was parked on the shoulder of I-75 Southbound at mile marker 422 near Lake City. Another semi headed southbound crashed into the parked vehicle.

The semi then went into the ditch and caught on fire. Columbia County Fire Rescue crews responded to put out the fire.

Drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at the time of this report.
