Alachua County Fire Rescue, LaCrosse Fire Department, Alachua Police Department, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Highway Patrol battled a Commercial Vehicle Fire at mile marker 3.95 on Interstate 75 at around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Rescue crews found a tractor-trailer with significant fire damage to the tractor, with flames reaching up to the trailer.
It took several hours to extinguish the fire as the truck was fully loaded with general merchandise.
No one was injured as the driver was able to safely pull over and exit the vehicle prior to flames reaching the cabin.
The far right southbound lane is closed as crews continue to clear the area.
