A semitruck was fully engulfed in flames Monday morning on State Road 528 in Brevard County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The fire happened in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 47.

The semitruck fire initially shut down all eastbound lanes but they have since reopened. However, troopers said intermittent lane closures may occur while debris is being removed.

Cameras in the area show traffic backed up at least a mile.

No other details, including what led to the fire, have been released.

This is a developing story.
