Shooting in Royal Palm Beach sends one to hospital; helicopter transports injured victim

A person is in the hospital following a shooting in Royal Palm Beach on Wednesday night.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBCFR), at about 9:05 p.m., units were dispatched to Bilbao Street after reports were received of a shooting.

Upon firefighters’ arrival, they found one person who met trauma alert criteria.

That person was trauma-hawked by helicopter to a local trauma center.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says all the people involved in the shooting were known to each other, and there is no threat to the public.

At this time, it’s unclear what spurred the shooting and if there is anyone in law enforcement custody.
