An adult bicyclist was killed in a crash with a vehicle in St. Augustine Wednesday morning, according to St. Johns County Fire Rescue.
The crash occurred at the intersection of South Holmes Boulevard and Collier Boulevard.
A spokesperson for the fire department told First Coast News the bicyclist was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries before they died.
Due to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office investigating the cause of the crash, South Holmes Boulevard from Butler Avenue to Whispering Woods Lane is currently closed. SJSO said around 9:30 a.m. the stretch of the road is expected to be closed for the next few hours.
