A son in transition from male to female was arrested after an altercation with her father.
A deputy responded to verbal altercation involving a firearm at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The father of 32-year-old JAB stated the altercation turned physical with his son, transitioning to his daughter.
The two started arguing over needing to buy new water filters for their residence when B allegedly threw a box at her father and hit him in the torso area. He kicked her to prevent further harm, and she went into a bedroom to retrieve a black .22 rifle, the report said.
B then went into the kitchen to confront him, leading him to grab his own firearm as the argument continued. Moments later, she ran out of their home across the street to a neighbor’s home with the weapon, the report said.
The deputy proceeded to speak with B, who was very soft spoken at first and did not say anything. After being confronted by what her father said, she reluctantly admitted to throwing the box at him and hitting him before going to her room for a firearm, the report said.
B was subsequently arrested on charges of battery on person 65 years of age or older (domestic) and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (65 or older). The Ohio native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $3,000 bond.
