SR-408 back open after deadly, multi-vehicle crash shut down road for hours, FHP says

An area of State Road 408 in Orlando has reopened hours after a deadly, multi-vehicle crash shut down the road early Monday.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash happened shortly after 3 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Dean Road, east of State Road 417. 

An FHP spokesperson said the crash involved a 2024 Honda Civic, a 2017 Dodge Durango Caravan, and a 2016 Toyota Corolla.

The woman driving the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was not immediately released.

The road reopened shortly before 9:15 a.m.
