Officials believe two fires were sparked by lightning

St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to multiple fires and a wave of storm-related service calls — including downed power lines — during a busy evening across the county.

Crews responded to house fires on Kellet Way in the Rivertown community and on Silver Pine Drive in the SilverLeaf community.

Both fires were extinguished with no injuries reported. Officials believe lightning caused both fires.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department assisted with the SilverLeaf fire as part of a mutual aid response.
