A Sumter County man died after crashing into a tree in a rural area.

The 24-year-old Bushnell man was driving a Hyundai Elantra at 2:45 a.m. Saturday northbound on County Road 575 at the intersection of County Road 48 when he failed to stop at the intersection, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

He was transported to an area hospital. He later died from injuries suffered in the crash.
