A man is recovering from injuries after a crash involving a tractor-trailer and four other vehicles that snarled traffic on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge during the Thursday morning rush, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
What we know:
The crash happened around 6:45 a.m. Thursday on the northbound side of the bridge, according to FHP.
Troopers say a tractor-trailer was unable to slow down for traffic ahead, hitting a Kia Sportage and a Buick Envision. The Buick then hit a Chevy Silverado, which crashed into a Lexus GS350, according to FHP.
Troopers say the driver of the Silverado, a 25-year-old Wimauma man, went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Both northbound lanes of the Skyway Bridge were blocked at one point, with the right lane remaining closed until shortly before 9:30 a.m.
