Suspect in 20-year-old man’s murder in Lauderhill faces charges in Broward

George Williams was at the Broward County main jail on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale for the murder of a 20-year-old man in Lauderhill.

Lauderhill police had a March 15 warrant for the arrest of Williams, 29, when Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested him for premeditated murder on Monday in Oakland Park.

Jaylin “Jay” Conorquie was an aspiring rapper. His parents were proud that Royal Palm Elementary School teachers considered him a gifted third-grade student. He had a gift with words.

According to his grieving relatives, Conorquie graduated from Lauderhill 6-12 STEM-MED Magnet School, attended Boyd Anderson High School, and had eight siblings.

Police officers found Conorquie on Feb. 13 with wounds to his back, left side torso, right arm, and clavicle, in the area of Northwest 27 Court and 56 Avenue, according to the arrest warrant.

Broward Health Medical Center personnel later declared him dead.

Williams, also known as George Shakele Delay Williams, is also a suspect in an attempted murder. Records show the victim injured on Feb. 13 was shot twice in the leg.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477
