Suspect in custody after attack on Lee County deputies along Metro Parkway

There was a large deputy presence on Metro Parkway in Lee County on Tuesday.

Crime scene tape was up, and multiple deputy cruisers were seen in the area. This is near East Pine Parkway.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a business in the area for a person acting erratically.

When deputies arrived, LCSO said the suspect began attacking deputies and was taken into custody.

The sheriff’s office said at least two deputies were being treated for injuries, but LCSO did not confirm the extent of the injuries.

More information will be forthcoming, LCSO said.
