An early morning argument erupted into violence Tuesday in Fort Pierce, resulting in a victim being stabbed in the leg in a dispute over money.
The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) said that on Tuesday at 4:33 a.m., officers responded to a stabbing in the 2500 block of Avenue I.
According to FPPD’s initial investigations, the altercation began as a verbal argument between the victim and an unknown female in the parking lot.
JJG, who was sitting in his vehicle nearby, approached the scene and initiated his own argument with the victim, per FPPD.
The report states that G then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the upper leg before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.
Officers quickly issued a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) alert, and thanks to a previous encounter with G, he was located just hours later.
During questioning, G allegedly admitted to being present at the scene and claimed that the victim owed him money. However, he denied any involvement in the stabbing, despite surveillance footage contradicting his statement.
G has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
