A vehicle hit a light pole in the Gulf Breeze area on Monday morning.
The Midway Fire District responded to the crash on Gulf Breeze Parkway near Breezy Wind Drive around 11:15 a.m.
According to the fire district, the driver of a white SUV may have experienced a medical event that caused them to leave the roadway.
They say the driver then collided into a light pole. This caused the pole to snap and fall into the roadway. A live wire attached to pole made this a “hazardous situation.”
“Two lanes of Gulf Breeze Parkway were closed until power to the downed line was safely disconnected,” the fire district said.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office helped to control traffic.
