Tampa DUI driver flips SUV in I-275 crash at over 2x legal limit, FHP says

A Tampa woman was arrested after authorities said she caused a crash while under the influence Thanksgiving night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Emily Frances Diaz, 29, of Tampa, was driving south on I-275 near I-4 when she changed lanes, crashing her Honda CR-V into a Subaru Outback driven by a 25-year-old Tampa woman.

Diaz’s CRV then spun out of control and flipped while the Outback was run off road and into a concrete barrier wall.

Troopers said Diaz suffered a minor injury during the crash. She also blew a breath alcohol sample of .205, over two times the legal limit, according to the FHP.

The other Tampa woman was not injured.

Diaz was arrested on a DUI charge.
