According to the Tampa Police Department, a juvenile victim, accompanied by an adult, reported an altercation that occurred last week involving a volunteer reserve officer identified as ATP.

TP joined the department as a reserve officer in 2022.

The victim told police that TP hit her in the face multiple times and choked her so that she struggled to breathe.

Officers said the victim sustained minor physical injuries that were still visible.

According to police, the victim and TP were acquaintances, and the incident occurred while TP was off duty.

Tampa police arrested TP and charged her with child abuse.

According to police, TP was immediately terminated.
