Tampa resident ‘possibly trapped’ inside burning home rescued, in critical condition

Tampa Fire Rescue saved a person inside a burning home on Saturday morning.

Several 911 callers reported a resident “possibly trapped” inside a home in the 1600 block of East Idell Street at around 10:30 a.m.

Fire crews found the home engulfed in smoke and flames.

Inside, a victim was found and removed from the home. They were taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

No other injuries were reported, and the fire was extinguished in 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Tampa Fire Rescue, the State Fire Marshal’s office, and the Tampa Police Department.

No further details were released.
