Tampa shooting victim identified as 17-year-old

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly Tampa shooting that happened Tuesday night.

A spokesperson told 8 On Your Side that deputies responded to a call saying there was a shooting on Country Hollow Drive at 9:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, deputies found the body of Trevaun Johnson, 17.

The sheriff’s office reported that two people with gunshot wounds were also found at nearby hospitals as well.

“There is no situation in which this level of violence is acceptable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The safety of this community is our top priority, and we will continue doing everything in our power to protect it.”

Detectives are still investigating what led to the shooting. However, it is believed to be an isolated incident.
