Teen boy, woman hospitalized in St. Pete shooting

Two people were shot in St. Petersburg Wednesday morning, according to police.

The St. Petersburg Police Department said officers responded to a shots-fired call in the area of 15th Avenue South and 11th Street South at 10:40 a.m.

When they arrived, officers found a teenage boy and a woman who were suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment. While police said the boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the woman’s exact condition is not known, although she is said to be stabilized.

Schools in the area were put under a temporary lockdown, which has now been lifted.
