Teen killed in Columbia County crash after truck collides with tree

A teenager was pronounced dead at the scene of a fatal traffic crash Saturday night in Columbia County.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say the victim, a 17-year-old male from Lulu, was traveling eastbound on Southwest County Road 240 in a pickup truck just after 11 p.m.

They say the truck traveled off the road to the right for unknown reasons and hit a tree.

There were no other passengers in the car at the time. This is an ongoing investigation.
