Teen shot 16-year-old girlfriend, killed himself in Palm Bay, police say

A 17-year-old boy shot a 16-year-old girl Sunday in Palm Bay before committing suicide, police said on Tuesday.

The Palm Bay Police Department said the attempted murder-suicide happened around 2:45 a.m. at 1103 Malabar Road, the address of a tire and auto service shop called Gatto’s.

Police on Tuesday said the teens were in a relationship and met in the parking lot for an unknown reason.

Another 16-year-old girl called 911 to report that the girl had been shot, police said.

The wounded girl was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound and is recovering, police said.

The 17-year-old then shot and killed himself, according to police.

An investigation is ongoing.
