A teenager was fatally shot Wednesday night on King Street, just south of West Beaver Street, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said officers were called to the area of the Hollybrook Homes Apartments on King Street after reports of a shooting.
When they arrived just before 9 p.m., they found a victim in his late teens with gunshot wounds. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he died.
Investigators said that surveillance footage shows the possible shooter — an older bald Black man in all black clothing — running from the apartment complex in an unknown direction.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office at 904-630-0500, or you can reach out to CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
