Three Arby’s shooting suspects arrested during I-75 chase; 2 wounded in Lake City

Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies say three people were taken into custody in connection with a shooting at an Arby’s restaurant.

Deputies say the shooting occurred at the Arby’s on US Highway 90 West near Lake City on Thursday morning.

When they arrived around 11:30 a.m., deputies found two people inside suffering gunshot wounds. Witnesses gave them a description of the suspect and their vehicle.

Within a few minutes, a responding deputy found the suspects’ vehicle near the scene with three people inside. The vehicle fled from US 90 onto I-75 Northbound.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers conducted a successful PIT Maneuver on the vehicle north of the I-75/I-10 Interchange, disabling the vehicle.

All three people in the vehicle were taken into custody.

“On the interstate, there must have been 35 cop cars, and they were from all over, and we saw a white car roll over upside down on its hood,” recounted CE, a driver on the interstate.

One of the victims was rushed to a trauma unit with serious injuries. The second victim’s injuries weren’t life-threatening.

The identities of the victims and the suspects haven’t been released. Deputies say all three suspects are adults who live outside of Columbia County.

Deputies say the motive for the shooting is currently unknown. The investigation is ongoing. We’ll update this developing story as more information is learned.
