Traffic crash on Florida’s Turnpike causes major delays in Indian River County

Drivers are expected to see major delays after a crash brought northbound traffic to a halt on Florida’s Turnpike in Indian River County.

According to Florida 511, the multi-vehicle crash occurred before Mile Marker 174, near the Fort Drum Wildlife Management Area, at 6:48 p.m. on Monday. 

Traffic cameras show congestion in the area, semi-trucks and cars stuck bumper to bumper in the night. Florida 511 said the traffic is backed up to Mile Marker 171. 

The severity of the crash is intermediate, according to Florida 511.

According to the latest update at 10:24 p.m., Florida 511 said the right lane is blocked.
