Tragic house fire claims life of senior resident in Okaloosa County

A senior resident was killed in a large house fire on Sunday in Okaloosa County, according to deputies.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says the incident took place at t 8185 Creston Barrow Road in Baker.

Deputies and firefighters responded to the fire where one resident was unable to escape and died, according to OCSO.

Deputies say another resident survived and was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center for treatment.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fatal fire.
