Trenton man seriously injured in 2-vehicle Levy County collision

A 23-year-old Trenton man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision Thursday afternoon on County Road 345 in Levy County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 53-year-old Trenton woman was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer north on CR 345 at 4:12 p.m. and, after passing another vehicle traveling north, re-entered the northbound lane and lost control of her Chevrolet. The Trenton woman crossed the center line and traveled into the southbound lane, colliding with the front left side of a Lexus ES300 being driven by a 61-year-old Gainesville man who was southbound on CR 345.

The Chevrolet overturned onto its right side while the Lexus came to a rest on the west shoulder of CR 345.

Emergency responders transported both drivers to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the 23-year-old Trenton passenger suffered serious injuries.
