Truck in hit-and-run crash that killed man on bicycle found on fire behind nearby business, FHP says

A man is dead after a hit-and-run crash on Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando on Monday morning.

Florida Highway Patrol said a dark colored pick-up truck struck the 43-year-old man on a bicycle in a marked crosswalk at OBT and 43rd Street at approximately 9:19 a.m.

The man was taken to ORMC and pronounced deceased, FHP said.

Officials said they located the truck on fire behind a nearby business and detained a suspect matching a description from a witness.

The suspect is being detained to determine if they were driving, FHP said.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call FHP at *347 or CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS.

This crash remains under investigation.
