Two people are dead after a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in north Escambia County.
It happened around noon on Highway 97 near North Highway 99 in Walnut Hill.
According to NorthEscambia.com, the crash involved two vehicles and a passenger car.
A red pickup truck flipped on its roof in the crash. The driver was flown to the hospital as a trauma alert, according to NorthEscambia.com. Another vehicle ran off the road and struck a ditch. That driver was not seriously injured.
NorthEscambia.com reports that a passenger car left the roadway and struck a large fence post. Both occupants of that vehicle were reportedly pronounced dead on scene.
No further details are available at this time, including the cause of the crash.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
Highway 97 is blocked as crews work the scene.
