Two dead in Jackson County crash

Two people are dead following a crash Sunday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, around 6:00 p.m. an 80-year-old pick-up truck driver from Bascom was traveling down State Road 2 east of Eden Road.

While attempting to turn left into a private driveway, the truck hit a motorcyclist trying to pass in the left lane.

Upon impact, both riders came off the motorcycle, and the truck crashed into a fence. The truck driver sustained minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation at this time.
