The Fort Walton Beach Police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle that caught fire on Thursday.
According to a news release, the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. as a motorcycle was traveling east on Brooks St. SE and collided with a cinder block mailbox.
Responding officers were able to extinguish the fire upon arrival and attempted to provide aid to a male and female who were lying on the ground, officials wrote.
The man was identified as 28-year-old Scott Morris of Destin he was pronounced deceased on the scene by officers. The woman involved was 28-year-old Elizabeth Fletcher from Valparaiso, she was transported to Florida HCA Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. Fletcher was also later pronounced deceased, officials confirmed.
