Two dead in plane crash in Florida Everglades

Emergency crews are responding to reports of a small plane crash on Wednesday near Broward County near the Florida Everglades.

The cause of the crash remains unknown, Officials say two people are dead.

Federal Aviation Administration officials said the wreckage of the single-engine Cessna was discovered around 10:50 a.m.

BSO Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Kane said it’s believed the plane left North Perry Airport around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and went off the radar around 6:45 p.m.

As first responders work to secure the area and assess the situation, more details are expected to emerge in the coming hours.

The aircraft is down at the 28 MM on I-75 causing traffic delays in both directions according to Broward County Sheriff’s Office.
