Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue along with other crews responded to a residential house fire call at 1:01 p.m. They reported that while no people were injured in the blaze, two dogs were killed.

The fire took place at a 4000 square-foot home on Magellan Drive in Sarasota.

The fire took over an hour to contain before being considered under control by authorities.

Images and video show heavy smoke pouring from the home as multiple firetrucks worked to contain the blaze.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, according to authorities.
