Two overnight fires in Escambia County are under investigation.
Firefighters first responded to Tri-State Tree Service on Mobile Highway around 2:15 a.m. to find three vehicles on fire. They put out the fires in an hour.
About 30 minutes later, firefighters were called to a fire at Able Auto Repair on Mobile Highway near the fairgrounds to find heavy fire and smoke damage throughout the building.
That fire was put out in an hour.
The auto shop owner said he first received a call from his alarm company about activity at the building.
“They said that there was glass breaking inside the building,” Chris Deloney said. “I checked the cameras and didn’t see anything going on and decided to go ahead on drive on over here and at that time I could see that the flames were coming out of the corner of the building.”
The cause of both fires are unknown at this time.
The state fire marshal is investigating both fires.
No further details were released.
