Two injured in early morning shooting in Lake City

Lake City Police Department responded to a report of a person shot early Saturday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the call at 1:24 a.m. to 698 NW Mississippi Way.

Upon arrival they found a man on the ground suffering from two gunshot wounds to his lower body. Officers performed aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.

At the scene multiple shell casing of various calibers were discovered on the road and the surrounding property.

During the investigation, they were advised that a secondary victim had arrived at the hospital by a private vehicle.

The second victim had non-life-threating injuries and was later released.

No suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
