Two vehicles crash on I-75

A Tampa woman was injured on Thursday, Nov. 30, after an accident on I-75, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

At about 2:20 p.m., a dump truck and Ford F250 were going south on I-75 and approaching Darby Road near Milepost 288 when the driver of the dump truck lost control, entered the lane occupied by the Ford F250, and struck the rear left side of a boat being towed by the pickup.

The collision caused the dump truck to overturn and spill its load of sand onto the roadway. The crash closed portions of I-75 until 5:10 p.m.

The dump truck driver, a 27-year-old woman, was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford F250, a 52-year-old male from St. Petersburg, was not injured.
