Two people were seriously injured when an RV caught fire in Hernando County early Friday morning, fire rescue said.
Crews responded to the scene on Goolsby Street at around 3 a.m. on Jan. 2 to find fire engulfing one RV and spreading to another. Two occupants were suffering serious burn injuries, HCFR said.
Through an aggressive attack on the flames, crews were able to bring the fire under control within around 30 minutes. Photos from the scene show the vehicle destroyed by the blaze.
The victims were airlifted to a local trauma center for treatment. As of around 5:30 a.m., there was no update on their conditions.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
