Update | 22-year-old motorcyclist dead in crash on State Road 9B in St. Johns County

A 22-year-old man is dead after a crash on State Road 9B at Peyton Parkway in St. Johns County Saturday afternoon. 

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was riding a motorcycle traveling southbound on SR-9B at approximately 12:45 p.m. Saturday at the time of the crash.

The motorcyclist failed to maintain a curve and veered from the roadway and separated from the motorcycle, before hitting a guardrail along the highway, FHP said.

The motorcycle continued south, coming to a final stop in the roadway. The 22-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash.
