UPDATE: Hit-and-run driver turns himself in after fatal crash in Pensacola

 A 41-year-old Cocoa man is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Escambia County on Friday.

Troopers say the incident occurred around 4:02 a.m. and involved a white SUV and a pedestrian near the intersection of East 9 Mile Road at the intersection of University Parkway.

The driver of the hit-and-run SUV, a 34-year-old Pensacola man, turned himself in to FHP Friday evening.

The SUV involved has been located and is now in the possession of the Florida Highway Patrol.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and charges are pending.
