Van driver airlifted after crash with box truck on Citrus Blvd in Martin County

The driver of the van who crashed into a box truck had to be extricated from their vehicle on Monday, according to Martin County Fire Rescue.

MCFR says the crash happened at around 4 p.m. near Southwest Citrus Boulevard and Zarella Street in Palm City. Reports say the trailer had stopped to turn west on Zarrella Street when the driver crashed into the back of it.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the driver of the van was seriously hurt and was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
