A crash with injuries blocked northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 86 in Collier County, the Florida Highway Patrol reported Saturday morning.

The crash was reported to FHP at 6:57 a.m. Troopers say a truck carrying sod overturned. The driver of the truck, a 71-year-old man from Miami, told troopers he was trying to avoid another vehicle that made an improper lane change. When he steered, he lost control and the truck overturned.

A helicopter landed at the scene of the crash to take the driver to the hospital. FHP says he suffered serious injuries.

Lanes on I-75 have since re-opened.
