A Venice man was killed after his SUV hit a tree on Jacaranda Boulevard Tuesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Investigators say the 62-year-old was driving south in a Mitsubishi Outlander at about 10:30 p.m. when he veered to the left, drove onto the median and collided with a tree.
The driver, whom troopers did not identify, died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
