VIDEO: FHP officer suffers broken ankle at Bucs game

An FHP officer working the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday was injured during the final play of the game.

Trailing 31-26, Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield lobbed a Hail Mary pass into the back of the endzone where it was caught out of bounds by receiver Rakim Jarrett.

As Jarrett was coming down out of bounds, he slammed into the FHP member who was watching the stands with his back turned to the play.

FHP’s public affairs officer said the member suffered a broken ankle during the play.

“The FHP thanks the Falcon player that initially rendered aid to our member following the play,” FHP wrote in a statement.
