A large fire erupted early Tuesday at a Tampa-area salvage yard, but no injuries were reported, officials said.
The three-alarm fire broke out at B&D Towing and Recovery in Riverview.
According to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, the fire involved numerous stacks of automobiles and parts in a large area.
HCFR said 40 units battled the blaze, which was described as a “prolonged event.”
Firefighters later brought the fire under control, but more work remained, officials said.
“Firefighters are working to ensure all hot spots are extinguished, which will be an extensive operation due to the size and scope of the fire,” HCFR said in a statement.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
